How to Clean Marble

Marble requires maintenance, such as polishing and resealing. As the marble surface becomes etched, these etch marks can be sanded down and then polished smooth. The sealer will need to be reapplied to ensure the surface is protected. For those who work hard to avoid etching the surface of the marble, the stone will still require resealing every so often. Depending on the quality of sealer used on the marble, the time you need to reseal will vary. To know when it is time to reseal the stone you can perform a simple test. Pour about ΒΌ cup of water on the stone, leave the water on the stone for a few minutes. Wipe away the water and look at the spot. If there is a dark damp spot on the stone you need to reseal the stone.
