How Do You Clean Heavily Soiled Carpet?

There are definitely some carpet stains that are more difficult than others to remove from your carpet. Here are some tips to remove some of the most difficult stains that homeowners experience on their carpet:
– Blood: It’s important that you work as soon as possible to remove blood from your carpet. However, you might not notice it until it is already dried. If this is the case, go ahead and use a butter knife to scrape away from of the loose matter. Then you will work to create a solution that will help you remove the stain by combining cold water and one tablespoon of hand washing liquid. You will use a clean cloth to gently remove and blot away the stain.
– Wax: Wax is another stain that can be difficult to remove. If it has dried on your carpet, you can use a butter knife to remove the chunks of wax. Next, you will want to get a damp towel, set it on the stain and using an iron on a high setting, place it on the towel for 10 seconds. You can repeat this until the wax has all transferred onto the damp towel. If the towel dries at any time, dampen it again.
– Soda: As delicious as soda is, it is not something that you want on your carpet. With a clean towel, you want to soak up as much of the soda as you possibly can. To remove the remaining stain, mix together a solution that consists of 2 cups warm water, 1 tablespoon of liquid dishwashing detergent, and 1 tablespoon of vinegar. With a clean cloth and the solution, blot away the stain.
– Urine: Urine of any kind is extremely difficult to remove from carpet. Blot away the urine with a clean cloth as much as you can before getting started. You can first sprinkle baking soda on the stain. Be generous with the soda. Now you will mix together a vinegar and water solution. Spray the solution on the baking soda until the soda is saturated. Allow the soda to completely dry. Then you can vacuum the soda and the stain will be gone.
