Once you have waited, vacuum the remaining baking soda up. If the stains are a couple of days old, you can use a solution of one part vinegar and two parts water to get rid of the stain. Whatever you do, avoid using heat to get rid of pet stains as this will set the stain into the carpet even further. For stubborn pet urine stains that aren’t able to be removed with the help of baking soda and vinegar, you can turn to pet enzymes for help. These will cut through the stain and remove both the stain and the odor left behind.
